Looking for a 2009 RL in New Jersey. I am hearing the same MSRP nonsense. They also killed the residual on the leases. It does not really seem like Acura wants to sell these cars. They have curtailed production significantly, so there just are not that many of them around. I guess they are putting their eggs in the TL basket until the next generation RL arrives in 2011 ... BBRIMMER, The condition of the 2004 RL would have to be spectacular to even consider the choice to begin with. Having said that I have driven the new 2008 Accord and thought it to be an excellent car. It has Acura all over it. My wife and I have owned Hondas since '83 and Acura's since '96. No RL hybrid. I could see diesel as a future engine choice. I know it has its fair share of haters though. The new diesels are in a different league than 30 years ago. Honda thinks small cars should go hybrid. The 2011 RL will get the v8. I'm sure the IMA could be adapted to a v8. It depends on how they designed the engine bay. Next RL will get a v8 for the first time. The 09 TL will actually rival the 09 RL. The new TL will have features that will rival the 09 RL. The 09 RL will have to soldier on until 2010 when the MY11 RL will come out. The 09 TL looks like a current 2 Door civic mixed in with Camry. Remodeled RL
How well I recall the apochryphal stories circulated in 2001, 2002, 2003, etc, as to when the new RL would appear!! It took nine years to present us with the 2005 RL.Now, new predictions are sounded, some as early as this May - I would be hesitant to pin my hopes on this early date. is 2009 the makeover year?
If 2009 is when Acura completely redoes the RL I might want to wait but if it is 2011 or so I might want a 2008 with the dealer incentives making it a much better buy than previously. Anyone know their makeover plans? Lee Read More...

JJ: Essentially, a hybrid benefits the ecology but damages the pocketbook. If Acura was to turn out a hybrid luxury performance sedan, imagine the implied cost. You and I particularly, would desire the new technology package, the cost of which, in combination with the added hybrid technology, would by 2011 no doubt exceed $65K or even $70K. Conceivable? My friend Acuraphile...I will no doubt replace the RL before 2011 and have no problems with the VTec 6. It is a great engine. I'm wondering though, in light of what I paid for a full tank of gas about 1 hour ago, whether or not Acura will bring to us a Hybrid Luxury Performance sedan?
